Dr. Barbara Manion, OD

Dr. Barbara Manion, ODDr. Manion, a graduate of the SUNY College of Optometry, completed her residency at Montefiore Hospital in New York. During her time in New York, she worked in a variety of practice modalities, from a prestigious contact lens practice in Manhattan to the Department of Ophthalmology at Beth Israel Hospital. She then spent 17 years working with both a renowned cataract and LASIK surgeon and a leading optometrist specializing in vision therapy for eye muscle disorders. Dr. Manion is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Connecticut Association of Optometrists. She has received several awards of recognition for her involvement in continuing education programs.

Dr. Manion and her husband have lived in CT for 18 years. They have two sons and are very involved in multiple community events. Dr. Manion cherishes her time with her family, including coaching her son's basketball team. She enjoys boating, skiing, traveling, and music. She also loves coming to the office and looks forward to seeing you!

Dr. Jessica Yu, OD, FAAO

Dr. Jessica Yu, OD, FAAODr. Yu graduated from the SUNY College of Optometry in New York, where she also completed a Fellowship in Cornea and Contact Lenses. During this time, she trained with one of the leading ophthalmologists in Manhattan specializing in laser vision correction and served as Clinical Instructor for several laboratory courses at the College. In conjunction with the Contact Lens Research Group, Dr. Yu conducted a clinical research study on the subject of keratoconus. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals on the subject of her study and on fitting contact lenses for irregular corneas after refractive surgery. She specializes in fitting and managing all types of difficult contact lens fits, including a variety of gas permeable and hybrid lenses, as well as lenses for keratoconus, pediatric aphakia, and ocular prostheses. Dr. Yu is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and is currently on faculty at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Although Dr. Yu spent many years in New York, she is a native of Connecticut and happy to be back in the area once more. She is a budding motor sports enthusiast, enjoys reading and writing, and loves yoga and traveling.
